Many innovations were presented during the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in July. However, the most attention-grabbing introduction came from Fourier, a Shanghai-based venture company. The company introduced the AI-supported humanoid robot, GR-1.

The Chinese-made GR-1, which walks on two legs at a speed of 5 km/h, also weighs 55 kg. According to claims, the robot’s mass production will start by the end of 2023. The company plans to deliver thousands of units next year. Additionally, Fourier is planning to collaborate with major artificial intelligence companies to work on the brain of the robot.

Calling all those curious about artificial intelligence: New free training from Microsoft!

Microsoft recently released four new trainings: Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, and Data Management.

Alex Gu, the founder and CEO of Fourier, made a statement regarding the matter. “This is an unprecedented venture for us. We had almost no references when it came to technology.” The CEO also mentioned that these robots will assist the country’s aging population.

Many individuals who saw the online video of the robot expressed doubts about the authenticity of the video. As a result, claims circulated that the video was generated by a computer. As always, after such technological advancements, there were many speculations about how practical the robot will be.

Zhang Xiaorong, the director of the Chinese research institute, stated, “Humanoid robots are mostly living in laboratories and are extremely expensive at the moment. A relatively high-quality machine could cost millions of yuan.”
